Clean water soures
what's the problem
Every day humans take having clean water for granted and some people don’t realize that more than 159 million people still don’t have access to clean water. These 159 million people can get sick from dirty water and even have a risk of dying from drinking this water every day. The clean water we drink every day is like a dream for a lot of children around the world and most children don’t even make it to the age 5 in countries where getting clean water is a challenge. There are many diseases that can occur from consuming dirty water but I will be telling you the top 8 diseases that humans have gotten from this problem.
Diseases
Diseases that occur from drinking dirty water have killed more people than all wars combined. There are many diseases that can occur from drinking/consuming dirty water but I will be listing and explaining only the top 8. These diseases can occur from water that has been contaminated by human or animal feces. The first disease is Cholera-Cholera is not a problem in developed countries, but it is a major public health problem for developing countries, where outbreaks occur seasonally and are associated with poverty and poor sanitation. Serious disasters, such as hurricanes, typhoons, or earthquakes, cause a disruption in water systems resulting in the mixing of drinking and wastewaters, which increase the risk of contracting cholera among area residents. The next disease is diarrhea-that leads to rapid dehydration and—if not treated—death. Their diseases are-typhoid, shigella, polio, meningitis, and hepatitis A and E.
the effects
Everyday some humans face the challenge of having to walk miles and miles just to get dirty water that they know will soon make them sick, while everyday others who have water that comes from clean water sources complain about walking a few steps to get clean water. These humans are struggling everyday and some of us don’t even realize the struggle they go through. Drinking this water can make them get diseases and they can get exhausted from walking such a long way in the heat trying to get this water. Some people also don’t have clean water that comes from the shower and this can also cause certain health problems. This problem can lead to many different effects and the life we live today is like a child’s dream in countries that can’t access clean water.
Here are some other ways that polluted water sources can affect you,
Drinking polluted water,
Bathing or showering in polluted water,
Swimming in polluted water,
Breathing the vapors of a polluted water while sitting next to a polluted water source,
Consuming polluted food (meat and/or vegetables) affected by polluted water,
Consuming meat from animals fed with polluted water of food affected by polluted water (e.g. vegetables irrigated with polluted water or grown in an area with polluted groundwater).
Not having clean water is the cause for more deaths in the world than war. About 1 out of every 6 people living today do not have adequate access to water, and double that number don’t have basic sanitation, for which water is needed. In some countries, half of the population does not have access to safe drinking water, and hence is affected by the problem with poor health. Research shows that, each day nearly 5,000 children worldwide die from diarrhea-related diseases, something that would drop dramatically if clean water for sanitation was available.
4 reasons that people don't have clean water
4 reasons people don't have access to clean water:
-poverty and inequality
In countries where poverty is a major problem getting clean water is usually also a problem becuase not everyone will be able to afford this clean drinkable water.
-climate change
In some places people won’t be able to get clean water because of the dry weather and how most rivers and lakes are dried out.
-Lack of infrastructure and poor management of services.
Lots of countries can’t organize to get clean water to everyone, that is why you don’t see everyone having clean water in certain countries.
-population increase/ over population
Due to over population there are too many people to give equal treatment to, so that is why this is also a cause of not getting clean water becuase not everyone can get this water due to a lot of demand on water.
